JSP plugins for Eclipse

Hi,
The eclipse i used is as follows:-
Eclipse Version:3.2.0 Build id:M20060629-1905

I want JSP plugins for my eclipse so that i can compile my jsp code?

I tried google , but did not get what i need?

Where can i download this plugins, can anyone provide me the details?

is there any version control system gui tool for java programs?
please suggest some best and free such gui tools (for our java project's maintenance). And we have only little knowledge on these tools and concept. so please also advice where and how to start using these.

In eclipse, I am getting a warning message for isELIgnored.

Here is the code:

I am displaying some value from request using ${}. Getting some warning message.
i.e, ${userName} --> The word is not correctly spelled.

I am using:

JSTL: 1.1

Okay, maybe the subject doesn't represent what I'm looking for, but at my work we like to have the programmer limit the number of characters per line - for example, we'd like to limit it to being 100 characters per line, anything past 100 characters, the programmer should move code/comments to the next line.

Is there some visual, dotted vertical line that can be turned on?

Hi,

I started building an application using 'Java Desktop Application' skeleton. I built a simple test class to try it but it crashes each time I run the main app class and the problem seems to be in the IDE generated GUI class.

The compiler is telling me the null pointer exception is being thrown on this line of code which sits in the 'View' class:

int messageTimeout = resourceMap.getInteger("StatusBar.messageTimeout");

Test code show the method resourceMap.getInteger() is returning null.

This code is generated by the IDE. I've looked and can't find much documentation on the ResourceMap class or FrameView which the class the IDE is using to produce the GUI class by extending it. ...

for nevigation from one java class file to another java class file in a same project and in the same/different packages , there are some settings required and after then suppose in one of the java class file another java class file is there , so just click on that and using one key F.. immediately we would be moved to that java class file in eclipse

I google and find a code very similiar to my requirements as follows:

I have following problem in Eclipse 3.3.1

When i run in Command console, It success all,
But when I put into Eclipse, It fails, I got follwoing error:

It doesn't display me a highlighting row in code in debugger. Could you help me?

If "Step over" in code (in debugger) then it jump into class method window (NameClass.aMethod()line:29) and displays red "Source not found" with "Edit source Lookup Path..." button.

Hi All,
I'm using WebSphere MQ 7 on Windows XP SP 2. WebSphere MQ runs pretty well. WebSphere MQ comesw with a UI explorer called WebSphere MQ Explorer that provides a UI for Queue Managers and JMS topic objects. This tool is based on the open source Eclipse 3.3 IDE.

The problem that I'm facing is that whenever I start MQ Explorer, I get an error message saying- "JVM Terminated. Exit Code 8096". I've tried the following things to resolve this issue:
1. Installed Sun's JDK 5 and appropriately set the JAVA_HOME, PATH and CLASSPATH environment variables. This didn't helped me so I moved to step 2.

2. Installed Sun's JDK 6 and appropriately set the JAVA_HOME, PATH and CLASSPATH environment variables.

I have both Java 1.5 and Eclipse installed on my computer. When I try to execute a program using Eclipse, I get a message that says that it cannot find, C:\apps\Java\jre1.5.0_11/lib/tools.jar

I know that the file, tools.jar, is found in C:\apps\Java\jre1.5.0_11. Should I change the classpath variable from C:\apps\Java\jre1.5.0_11 to C:\apps\Java\jdk1.5.0_11? If so, how would I do that?

NetBeans does not stop at breakpoint JSF

Hi all,

I have a big problem with a JSF project developed with Netbeans 6.1 (...and also 6.0.1 is the same).

If I set a breakpoint ato an action_event function (for example linked to a button) of a java baking bean it is ignored, the execution (in debug mode) does not stop.

It is also possible that the function is not executed at all, causing the missed stop.

Where is the mistake(s)?

All thing compile and deploy ok, but ignore button clicks!

Please, help me!

My scenario is this:

I've inherited a production application that is running as an unexploded war file. The size of it, is 6,790k.

On the same server, different folder, I have the war file at 6,998k.

Finally, building HEAD produces a war file of 6,787k.

I'm not so much concerned with WAR #2. I need to know what is in that 'production' version of th WAR, or rather, how it differs from what HEAD contains.

Is there a tool that I can run against class files that does a 'diff'? I know I can use a tool like WinMerge to diff whole directories of text files (such as JSP, CSS, XML, etc). I'm platform agnostic, any tool will do.

I suppose I could just decompile all...

I have a Eclipse 3.0 and have some workspace and projects created already. Suppose I want to install a newer version of Eclipse 3.3, when I open Eclipse 3.3 all those existing workspace and projectes that were created with Eclipse 3.0 should still be there, right ?

Second question -- what if I use the new Eclipse 3.3. to create a new workspace and new projects, then when I use Eclipse 3.0, can I see it too ?

For some reason, index.jsp cannot find the chapter1.jsp file.

I have created a file in NetBeans it is having a path for HTML files but when i compile and run that java file i am unable to get any HTML pages only the java utility opens up without opening the corresponding HTML pages.

When i start the tomcat 5.5 from bin directory of tomcat installation. Its starting successfully.

On entering of http://localhost/ (http://localhost/) i am seeing tomcat sucess page.

But when tomcat is started from eclipse,
browser displays,

I am new to Java and I am trying to create a new servlet (in an attempt to learn).
I installed Eclipse in my PC. The web server that we have in my work is IIS.
I created a simple servlet code that does not do too much using Eclipse.
I have instructions in my book about how to deploy the servlet and which directory it should be copied to and also adding to the web.xml file.

While I understand this process, I am not sure how to use Eclisp...

How do I include the other libraries and .vm (velocity template) files in my executable jar. (the one which creates automatically by NetBeans is created the lib folder inside dist and place all my libraries into lib folder).

one way I know to create by this command by including the jar files into manifest file.

I've gone through posts related to this topic but I did not find what exactly is Pro Netbeans 6. I am currently using Netbeans 6.0 and will try 6.1 soon. The official Netbeans site does not mention anything about it.

I have downloaded and extracted eclipse-SDK-3.3.2-win32 in d:/.I had installed jre and jdk jar files inside it.i put com.sysdeo.eclipse.tomcat_3.2.0 in eclipse and i can see the tomcat images to start,stop and restart.I can able to see the tomcat page also.But i need to create a web project and to test jsp,servlets are working.but i didnt found the option web and dynamic web project inside eclipse.how should i proceed further?

Remote Debugging in Eclipse

Hi,

Coming straight to the problem!!

I started the JVM process(running in solaris box) in debug mode and successfully connected to it remotely from the eclipse. Inserted the break points in the code as well.
I can see all the threads in debug mode of eclipse (PC).

Now, I'm making a SIP call from sipXphone, but it's not hitting the break point, when ideally it should hit and stop.

Please tell me how to make it work?

Hello this is the first time I use the Eclipse thing, I don't know where to put or how to install the Java API documentation in it. there ain't no option at all, and also, there is a jdoc plug in i found on google, but it doesn't work..please help me =( i need it badly
