Good Books On Uml

Currently the best starter book probably is "UML Distilled" by Martin Fowler, ISBN 0321193687

Another good one is "Applying UML and Patterns" by Craig Larman, ISBN 0130925691

Both books are reviewed at the BunkHouse: http://www.javaranch.com/bunkhouse/Patterns.jsp

"The unified modelling language user guide" by Booch Rumbaugh and Jacobson is a very good ready reckoner. Best if you need to find out UML symbols for a particular symbol quickly.

And then there is Robert C. Martin's new "UML for Java Programmers": ISBN 0131428489

UncleBob has also written "Agile Software Development" (ISBN 0135974445) which discusses UML in the context of designing applications.
