I'm a moderator and WikiAdministrator here at JavaRanch. I've also written a number of articles and book reviews, and was one of the tech reviewers for the second edition of Head First Servlets & JSP. Recently I've also been toying with the JavaBlackBelt exams.
The first computer I've ever used was a Sharp PC-1211 (I still have it), while the fanciest were a Connection Machine 5 and a 512-node IBM SP2 cluster, which for a while ranked as one of the ten fastest computers in the world. Over the years, I've been (or still am) conversant in Basic, 6502 assembler, Pascal, Modula-2, Oberon, Scheme, Prolog, Excel macros, SQL, Fortran, HTML, HPF, C, MPI, Perl, TCL, and Java.
Aside from computers I'm a licensed table tennis coach, and still play regularly. I'm also an avid movie fan, and consider Apocalypse Now Redux to be the best film ever made. The picture was made in the Canyonlands National Park in the Rocky Mountains.
